About Us

Treating, Preventing, and Overcoming Addiction

Who We Are

Recovery Road Runners is a national nonprofit foundation providing free resources and support for treating, preventing, and overcoming alcohol and drug addiction. Treatment and recovery services include in-person and online support groups, as well as scholarships for treatment programs and recovery coaching.

Recovery Road Runners’ prevention and wellness initiatives provide schools and communities with resources to prevent the misuse of alcohol and drugs. Recovery Road Runners Run Clubs and Wellness Weeks promote healthy choices, raise positive awareness about addiction, and empower individuals to coach themselves to cope with life’s without relying on substances.

Recovery Road Runners was founded in 2021 by former elementary school teacher, Amber Graziano-Cano, who has been in long-term recovery since May 26, 2020. Amber also shares her recovery journey as a public speaker in recovery groups nationwide, and helps others learn skills to stay substance-free through her holistic health and wellness program, Quit Like A Runner.

Our Mission

Educate. Inspire. Empower.

Recovery Road Runners helps youth and adults to live healthy, active, fulfilling lives by preventing substance misuse, creating active communities, and celebrating sobriety. We strive to strengthen families and build strong communities that protect and support healthy, substance-free living.

Our Vision

Our vision is a stronger, more educated, active, and connected community where all individuals thrive free from the effects of addiction.

Diversity and Inclusion

At Recovery Road Runners, we are committed to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We believe that the journey to recovery is unique for each individual and that the strength of our community lies in the diversity of our experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where all members feel valued, respected, and supported regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or any other aspect of identity. At Recovery Road Runners, everyone belongs, and together, we are stronger in our pursuit of sobriety and wellness.

Our Training Philosophy

Fitness, Education, and Fun For Sobriety That Lasts A Lifetime

When it comes to group training within Recovery Road Runners, we believe in creating an experience that transforms lives. From the kickoff celebration to the post-race party, our goal is to provide our participants with unique, unforgettable and transformative experiences every time they join us to train.  We do this by focusing on three very important aspects as we plan each training block, then infuse them into every element of training throughout the program.  Our three guiding aspects are Fitness, Education, & Fun, and all 3 of these foundational pillars intentionally support and enhance each individual’s sobriety journey.

This means we focus on getting our bodies in shape for the physical task ahead, having a fun social experience together while training, and learning new things along the way whether it's something about sobriety, your body, mental toughness, your gear, training principals or something else.
